It looks really neat, and I have just backed the Omega2 on Kickstarter :-)

Your answer: You can probably use the Physical Web to notify everyone around that the parade float is arriving, and link it to a web page that displays information about that float. Seems like Omega does not have BLE built into it, so you will need to get an extra USB dongle for that.
